Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort is the world’s leading premium Arctic resort, located 250 kilometers / 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, a sparsely populated region in Finland which borders Sweden, Norway, Russia, and the Baltic Sea. On offer are four seasons of incredible arctic wilderness beauty, enjoyed in high-quality facilities. The resort is world-famous for its glass igloos and Arctic art – all designed to showcase the Northern Lights in winter, and make the most of the midnight sun in summer.

Globetrotters can enjoy a stay at Kakslauttanen on our new 3-Day Glass Igloo Stay – Finnish Lapland, starting at CA $709 / US $545.

From late August to the end of April, travellers can enjoy the unique experience of sleeping under the famous Northern Lights. During the day, guests can explore the wilderness with a range of activities, returning each night to first class facilities and a clear glass roof, where they will get ready to enjoy one of the world’s most unique and natural spectacles from the comfort of their room. There are numerous glass igloo choices, including the newly built Kelo-Glass Igloo – a combination cabin and igloo. Made of Lapland’s unique Kelo pinewood, this option sleeps up to 6 people and features a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and bedroom with a glass roof. All have luxury beds and a private toilet, while shower facilities are shared.

The glass igloos are closed during the summer, when guests can instead enjoy the unique beauty of Lapland under the midnight sun. The log cabins feature cooking facilities, along with a seating area and fireplace.

Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort has 4 restaurants, including 2 in a traditional Laplander hut. Each restaurant serves Laplandic specialties such as reindeer and char-grilled salmon. The hotel’s smoke sauna even has its own restaurant, Savusauna.

During their stay, guests can experience the Arctic wilderness on reindeer, husky, horse, or snowmobile safaris, to name a few. The area is also known for its world-class cross-country skiing. Guests can also learn about the fascinating culture of the Sámi people – the only indigenous group in the European Union area. Plus, kids and those young at heart can enjoy a visit to Santa’s home.
